We have just said goodbye to the Thai delegation after their very busy week in London meeting key people and having exciting discussions about the future of Thailand's children.
On 1st July they met with Lord Alton of Liverpool at the House of Lords in the morning and discussed the duties of protecting vulnerable children around the world. They also looked at how international collaborations between INGOs such as Care for Children, and governments such as Thailand’s, can have successful and fruitful relationships. The group met with Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint in the afternoon and discussed principles behind developing links between political leaders and social workers, foster families, and society in general, to make sure that policies are created in the best interest of vulnerable children. At lunch time the delegation were delighted to be invited to the Royal Thai Embassy for lunch with the Thai Ambassador.
We are very excited to have hosted the delegation in London. We're looking forward to continuing our work with the Thai government and developing our projects with the aim of supporting children in Thailand and seeing more children move out of institutional care and into local, loving families.
