In November, the Care for Children team spent a productive week in Singapore, home to our most recent board of trustees and hub for developing our innovative digital learning tool, 'My Family'. The week was made up of impactful meetings, participation in a major conference, a successful fundraiser, and the ongoing support of Care for Children's Royal Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent. The visit was a fantastic chance to continue discussions with key government officials, and advance Care for Children's mission to see children moved out of institutional care to family-based settings.

The week kicked off with a pre-conference dinner at the iconic Marina Bay Sands in downtown Singapore, gathering influential leaders from the child welfare sector. Notable keynote speakers included Ms. Kitty Chau, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, and Professor Froma Walsh, PhD, co-founder and co-director of the Chicago Centre for Family Health. At the Asian Family Conference, held annually in Singapore, Robert Glover, Founder and Executive Director, presented on the importance of family-based care in Asia, detailing Care for Children's progress and future goals. HRH Prince Michael, present at both the conference and several key events, offered valuable support that amplified our efforts and message.

Throughout the week, Care for Children's leadership team met with prominent government and business figures, including Singapore's Minister Sun Xueling and Peter Ong, Chairman of Pontiac Land Group. These discussions focused on expanding family-based care programs in the region, establishing stronger local partnerships, and setting goals for possible next steps. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore how Care for Children could contribute to Singapore's child welfare system.

A fundraising event held aboard the Yacht Dolce brought together supporters for an evening dedicated to backing Care for Children's mission. We were so pleased to see familiar faces and meet with new people who share our commitment to seeing children grow up in loving homes where they belong.

This productive week in Singapore helped connect with Care for Children's network and moved us ever closer to our goal of seeing child welfare programs implemented across Asia.
